My Deer Book is Shipping!

Whoa -- my deer books just shipped! Several weeks earlier than I had expected.

My first book, 'The Beginner's Guide to Hunting Deer for Food' is now on sale and ships right away from Amazon, or it might be in stock at your local bookseller.

It is a really neat feeling to be holding a physical copy of this book after spending the last 18 months or so working towards this moment. I had hoped to put on a couple of launch parties for it but as it happens I am completely wrapped up in finishing the work on 'Eating Aliens.' I'm writing roughly 10 hours a day, usually until 3 or 4 am.

Next week I hit the road one more time to catch invasive carp in Missouri with the kind assistance of the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Ordered my copy! Might not be 100% applicable to European deers, but I'm still very much looking forward to reading it. :)

Are you going to be starting a book tour? Might you be making any stops in northern California?

Just ordered my copy from Amazon. Have been target shooting a lot this year, while also gardening/canning a lot at home, while my wife buys organic chickens/beef from the farmer's market. It finally hit me that it might be worth looking into harvesting a deer. My people always shot firearms for fun, but didn't really hunt. So I find myself a beginner. Looking for forward to reading the book.

Got mine this weekend and started this morning. Now I'd like to hit up one of your deer classes somewhere in VA.

Chirol,

Its still kind of up in the air whether I'm going to be offering many classes this fall. During the last year I've moved mostly to doing group bookings with 5 or more people. If someone gets a group together and that group commits to a date then a class is a lot easier to arrange. Doing individual sign-ups turned into a herding cats type exercise.

Picked up your book at the Mother Earth News Fair. Loving it and looking forward to some meat in the freezer this fall.
